Art and creativity has been part of my life since I was a teenager. An initial career as a graphic designer transformed into career in fine art, as my own ideas and concepts wanted to be seen. A love of art, painting, drawing, ceramics and printmaking that is a passion I carry with me every day.
With a Bachelor of Fine Art, a Diploma in Visual Art and a Bachelor of Graphic Design, plus many workshops, ongoing training and experimentation over the last 25 years my skills and confidence have developed. Exhibiting regularly in group exhibitions and joint exhibitions have gained me recognition.
My paintings and drawings are held in private collections in both Australia and Internationally.
Artist Statement
I am inspired by the wonders of the natural world, the animals, the magic within it. My favourite genres such as surrealism, magical realism and contemporary narrative allow my imagination to flourish and develop works that keep me in love with creating beautiful and intriguing works of art.
Animals and nature feature strongly in my work, but with an element of surrealism that takes the work past the obvious to create a story, a quirky twist or a deeper meaning. My realistic painting style follows the traditions and techniques of the Old Masters, creating strong and sound artworks.
